Cookie policy
2048.cl uses two distinct things: technical local storage so the game works, and third-party cookies (Google) that are only switched on if you accept them.
Local storage (technical, no consent needed)
So that the game works, 2048.cl stores the following in your browser's localStorage:
- your game in progress, so you can pick it up again;
- your best score for each variant;
- your theme preference (light or dark).
These are not tracking cookies: they do not identify you, they are not shared with third parties and they never leave your device. They are necessary for the game experience.
Cookie-free traffic analytics
The site's visit analytics (Plausible) use no cookies and do not identify you: traffic is measured in aggregate and anonymously. That is why they are not part of the consent banner.
Third-party cookies: Google advertising and measurement (with consent)
When you accept in the banner, Google services that may use cookies are enabled:
- Google AdSense — to serve and, if you accept, personalise ads.
- Google Analytics 4 — to measure site usage in aggregate.
- Funding Choices — to remember your consent choice.
By default these cookies are switched off until you accept them. If you decline, the site keeps working and any ads shown are non-personalised.
How to manage them
You can change your choice from the consent banner when it reappears, or configure and delete cookies and site data from your browser. For more context, see the privacy policy.
